Maybe the studios should just reboot and remake every popular show going back to the 50s. Even iconic shows like I Love Lucy or The Honeymooners, or Cheers or All In The Family.
They should just spit on all of our memories in an increasingly desperate and futile attempt to hold onto their ever shrinking traditional viewer base.

God neither wants nor needs our help in fulfilling His will for our lives. The only thing He wants from us is first to become saved and then for us to get to know Him better. The more we get to know God through Jesus the more our wills, will become naturally aligned with His. Anything else is wasted effort.

I keep thinking about how nice it would be to have some Hollywood writer scripting a happy ending for each of us. Still, Hebrews 12:2 does call Jesus the "Author and Finisher of our faith." It's not a perfect metaphor of course, but He does know the end from the beginning. He is working all things for the good of those who love Him. He knows every action that will ever be taken by anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Although He'll never override our free wills He can plan His responses to it. So no matter what's going on in our lives we who have accepted Christ can be sure of a happy ending.

It's literally a miracle from God that the whole human race hasn't killed each other by now. Paul says that only the Holy Spirit working through the church is holding the evil at bay and when God takes us home that will end. And then the Devil will have free reign and the end will come.

No human love no matter how pure and powerful can compare to the love God has for each of us. Every romantic song and poem could be from Him to us. he doesn't want anyone of us to be lost, but we have to admit that we are in fact sinners and accept His death on the cross as the pardon for our sins. There's no other path and no other way.

Rapists, pedophiles, and serial killers will go to Heaven ahead of some who think of themselves as excellent people and that includes many who claim to follow Christ.

then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:10,12 NIV
Lately I've been thinking about the repentant thief on the cross next to Jesus. When it comes right down to it we're all the thief. We're all born into a life of sin and hopelessness. We're all deserving of punishment and none of us has anything to offer in our defense. All we can do is plead with Jesus to accept our repentance and show us mercy. And He always will if we ask Him to. But it's up to each of us individually to realize we need help and then to ask God to save us through Jesus' sacrifice.

Boundaries by Me

What are your boundaries?
You pull me in
You push me away

What are your boundaries?
You share everything
You share nothing

What are your boundaries?

I could never be counter-culture or a revolutionary because I like my creature comforts too much.

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

Nothing's like I planned it
So funny I can't stand it
Wish I was made of granite
(I must be on a another planet)

Lately I've become more and more convinced that the greatest enemy of faith is not our sin, but rather our sense of human rationality and common sense. Walking on water is not rational. Feeding thousands of people from a few loaves of bread and a few fish is not rational. Yet the Bible tells us all they happened. If we believe one part of Scripture we should believe all of it. If we claim one promise of God we should claim all of them. The only thing God requires to do a great work in our lives is for us to have faith in Him. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Abraham believed by faith and it was credited to Him as righteousness. Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. We either believe them or we don’t. We should pray every day for God to increase our faith so that He can do what He wants to in our lives. That’s my prayer. How about yours?

In no particular order Jesus died for: Osama Bin Laden, Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Benito Mussolini, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Timothy McVeigh, Josef Stalin, John Wayne Gacy, Kim Jong-il,  Vlad the Impaler ,  Napoleon Bonaparte, Karl Marx, Jerry Sandusky, and Bernie Madoff among others. This is of course a list of some of history’s biggest monsters. It’s hard to believe that any of them could be in Heaven at least by our human standards. But God has a much different standard.
Promises by Me

No sweet nothings to whisper
No Shakespeare to quote
No romantic songs to sing
Only one thing to say:I love you

No promises of perfection
No promises never to hurt you
The only promises I can make are to love you and do my best.
